Amid the continuous evolution of blockchain technology, Bitlayer is standing out with its unique technological solutions, becoming the focus of industry attention. As an important innovation in the Bitcoin ecosystem, Bitlayer is dedicated to addressing core issues such as the long-standing scalability limitations of the Bitcoin network, the lack of smart contract functionality, and insufficient liquidity for cross-chain assets.
Bitlayer is the first Bitcoin Layer 2 Rollup solution compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This innovative solution cleverly combines the security of Bitcoin with the flexible programmability of Ethereum, injecting new vitality and infinite possibilities into the Bitcoin ecosystem.
The technical foundation of this project is built on the groundbreaking BitVM paradigm. By adopting an innovative aggregation architecture, Bitlayer is able to directly validate state transitions on the Bitcoin layer, inheriting the robust security of the Bitcoin network. It is worth mentioning that Bitlayer is fully compatible with EVM (supporting up to the Cancun update), which means that Ethereum developers can easily migrate their applications to the Bitlayer platform using the familiar Solidity programming language and tools like MetaMask, significantly reducing development barriers and associated costs.
The core team of Bitlayer consists of experienced Blockchain experts. Among them, co-founder Kevin He holds a master's degree in software engineering from Peking University and has held important technical positions in several well-known Blockchain projects, including Vice President of Technology at Xinhua Technology, Senior Technical Director at HTX, and Chief Scientist at YOUChain. Another co-founder, Charlie Yechuan Hu, has also contributed valuable experience and insights to the project's development.
