Warning: Don't Lose Money Just Because of a Few Price Discrepancies in P2P Transactions
P2P trading (banking) is one of the popular forms for buying and selling crypto, especially USDT in the Vietnamese market. However, due to the nature of freedom and lack of automatic control like Spot trading, P2P becomes a "juicy bait" for bad actors to set traps. One of the old tricks but still surprisingly effective: the selling price of USDT is higher than the average. But the sophistication is what catches many people off guard. 🔍 How "Sweet Traps" Work: Step 1: A trader posts a selling price for USDT much higher than the market – creating a sense of "golden opportunity". Step 2: Upon further inspection of the "Buy" tab of that same person, you will see that the price they buy USDT at is very low → the discrepancy is too unreasonable if it’s just to "do charity". Step 3: Many people mistakenly think this is a "market error", but in fact, it is a deliberate setup; taking a screenshot at the same time will reveal this clearly.
💥 Hidden Risks Behind P2P is not like spot – it does not automatically match orders and payments. Your transfer requires manual confirmation from the seller, so the following situations may occur: Delays or order cancellations after transferring money: If you transfer first and then the other party "backs out", getting your money back is extremely difficult, even if you file a complaint. Exploiting loopholes to gain access: Some more complex scenarios can cause you to lose access to your account if the transfer is not done correctly or if you follow "special" instructions from the other party. No one to protect you: In the worst case, you cannot rely on the exchange or the law to handle it in time. Everything depends on you. 🧠 Lesson for Beginners Unusually high prices = Red flag, not an opportunity. Don't think you've "struck gold" just because the price of USDT is several hundred dong higher. Remember: money doesn't easily fall from the sky. Check the seller/buyer profile carefully: Time on the exchange, Number of transactions, Order completion rate, Reviews from other users. New users or those with many failed orders should raise a big question mark. Do not transfer money outside of the exchange's process: Do not transfer via third-party apps, Do not follow instructions to send to strange accounts, Do not communicate via Zalo, Telegram if the other person is trying to pull you off the platform. Better slow and steady:
Sometimes, trading at a slightly lower price but ensuring safety, speed, and transparency is better than being scammed and losing everything just because of "cheapness". 📣 Conclusion I don't do P2P so I'm not competing with anyone, I just hope that newcomers won't get caught up in dirty tricks. The crypto market is risky enough – don't let yourself become a prey just because of a careless click. Being cautious is free – but being careless will cost you your entire account.
