The crypto analysis platform Arkham Intelligence suggested that Consensys, one of the leading developer companies in the Ethereum ecosystem, may have made a large-scale Ethereum (ETH) acquisition.
According to the platform's sharing, a whale thought to be linked to Consensys received approximately 320 million dollars worth of ETH from Galaxy Digital.
The funds in question were transferred to a new wallet address, 0x0b2. Approximately 120 million dollars worth of ETH has been staked through Liquid Collective from this address.
On the other hand, Consensys CEO and co-founder of Ethereum, Joe Lubin, stated in a statement on Tuesday that the company is in talks with major players looking to build on the Ethereum infrastructure. Lubin said, "We are in discussions with large sovereign wealth funds and banks in a very large country."
Lubin pointed out the wear and tear in the current global financial system, saying:
"There is a structural fatigue in the financial system. This system is collapsing. We are fundamentally at the end of a super cycle. The excesses of the financial sector, the financialization of America, and the collapse of the middle class are bringing us to the end of this cycle."
Lubin also added that the institutions interviewed showed interest in the development of Ethereum's layer-1 infrastructure and in creating their own layer-2 solutions.
